Be honest, did you get into this thinking you would just figure it out as you go?

A lot of people do. They jump in out of necessity with no real plan, thinking it will come together. But then it gets messy. It feels harder than expected. And that’s when most people start questioning everything.

Here’s the thing: you’re not stuck. You just need the right mindset going in.

Trial and error mindset. I have spent the money. I have lost money. I have invested time in things that didn’t work.

But I don’t see any of that as a failure. I look at it as a discovery.

Every mistake shows you something. Every wrong move points you closer to what actually works. That’s how you find the “gold.” That’s how success is built through trial and error, not by avoiding it.

If you’re afraid to mess up, you’ll stay stuck.

Asset vs. liability. There’s a moment where things start to click, and it usually comes down to one idea.

Is this making you money or costing you money?

If something is bringing money in, especially without you constantly working, it’s valuable. That’s something you want more of. If you’re paying for something and nothing is coming back, that’s a different story.

Once you start seeing real estate this way, it changes how you make decisions. It’s no longer just about deals; it’s about building something that actually creates income.

The professionalism mindset. At some point, you have to treat this like it’s real.

If you’re doing this full-time, then act like it. Show up like it matters. Handle the work, the people, the responsibilities. Because this isn’t just about trying it out. This is about stepping into it and taking it seriously.

That shift alone can separate you from most people.

Overcoming fear. Let’s be real, people get stuck because they’re scared. Scared to say the wrong thing. Scared to make mistakes. Scared they don’t know enough. But you’re going to mess up. That is part of it.

“The right mindset turns mistakes into opportunities.”

So the real question is, what are you going to do when it happens? Are you going to learn from it, or let it stop you?

Every situation you’re not ready for is actually teaching you something. You just have to be willing to go through it.

The limitless goal. A lot of people get into environments with a ceiling. You can only grow so much. You can only earn so much. Eventually, you feel it.

That’s why you need something that’s built to grow. A model with no limit. Where you can keep improving, keep earning, and keep expanding without feeling boxed in.

Because if there’s no room to grow, people move on.

The inventor’s swan song. If you really sit down and ask people what they want, you’ll hear the same thing over and over.

They don’t want to sell forever. They get burned out. They still want to be in real estate, but they want something more, something that lasts.

That’s where investing comes in.

It becomes the end goal for a lot of people, the thing they’re building toward after doing all the work upfront.

The leader’s empathy. If you’ve been through it, you understand it. You know what it feels like to struggle, to figure things out, to go through the ups and downs. And that changes how you lead and how you work with people.

You start thinking, what would I have needed back then?

That perspective matters because people don’t just need instructions; they need understanding.

The parachute metaphor. At the end of the day, this is what it comes down to. It’s like jumping out of a plane.

You can prepare all you want. You can think about it, plan it, talk about it, but there’s always going to be that moment where you just have to jump.

And yes, it’s scary.

But you don’t grow standing at the edge. You grow when you take the leap, figure it out on the way down, and trust that you’ll land.

You’re never going to feel fully ready. There’s always going to be something you didn’t expect. Something you did not plan for. That’s just part of the process. So stop waiting for perfect. Get in, take action, and learn as you go.

That’s how you actually build something that works.
